OVERVIEW
We are proud to present Dr. Leslie Greenberg – Master’s Commentary Series, a unique learning opportunity designed for mental health professionals eager to deepen their understanding and application of Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). This series includes ten 2-hour seminars where Dr. Greenberg provides expert commentary on recent video-recorded therapy sessions. Seminars will broadcast live on Zoom on Fridays at 12:00 PM to 2:00PM (Eastern Daylight Time/Eastern Standard Time after March 9th, 2025)
Each seminar begins with a brief review of EFT theory as it relates to the case presented. Dr. Greenberg then offers an in-depth analysis and commentary on video-recorded clips, focusing on the therapeutic process, key markers, and interventions used. He will also highlight important micro-skills and micro-interventions and provide nuanced insights into difficult-to-resolve processes.
This series is ideal for therapists at any stage of their EFT training who are seeking to refine and advance their skills by learning directly from one of the foremost experts in the field.Â
OBJECTIVES
This workshop is didactic and uses video clips of therapy sessions throughout.
These seminars are an opportunity to learn:
– Gain clarify on when it is important to follow and when it is necessary to lead the client’s process.
– Gain an advanced understanding of core markers and interventions of EFT and their application in diverse clinical contexts.
– Advance emotion assessment and case formulation skills.
– Refine essential micro-skills and micro-interventions used in EFT, particularly those related to difficult-to-resolve processes in therapy.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Dr. Leslie Greenberg is a Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus of Psychology at York University in Toronto, Ontario. He created and co-developed Emotion-Focused Therapy for individual and couples. He received a Distinguished Research Career Award from the Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR) in 2004. His work has also been acknowledged with the Carl Rogers Award of the American Psychology Association, the Canadian Council of Professional Psychology Program Award for Excellence in Professional Training, and the Canadian Psychological Association Professional Award for distinguished contributions to Psychology as a profession. In 2012 he was awarded the American Psychological Association Award for Distinguished Professional Contribution to Applied Research. His teaching style is highly praised and his workshops are well-known for their atmosphere of authenticity and warmth.
